Mokume- Gane is a Japanese technique using layered of metals. Belived to have been created about 300 years ago in Japan. Translates closely to ” wood grain metal” and describes the metal takes on the appearance of natural wood grain. Mokume gane fuses several layers of differently colours of precious metal together to form a billet. Once the metal has been rolled into a sheet or bar, several techniques are used to produce a range of effects.
Each piece is made by hand and each mokume pattern is unique so no two pieces will look exactly the same. You will have a one of a kind design/pattern.
