Years ago, the Signet Ring, also known as the “gentleman’s” Ring held a significant meaning in society, specifically business and politics, passed down from generation to generation. These Rings may have been one of the first practical pieces of jewellery. Men used these rings (which usually had a family crest, emblem, or monogram engraved on it) as a seal to sign legal or important documents. After being dipped in hot wax or clay, the Ring left it’s mark, which at the time was of greater importance than that of a signature. Today, its a matter of personal style when a man wears a Signet Ring, but they will surly leave their mark.
