Mokume- Gane is a Japanese technique using layered of metals. Believed to have been created about 300 years ago in Japan. Translates closely to” wood grain metal” and describes the metal takes on the appearance of natural wood grain. Mokume gane fuses several layers of differently colours of precious metal together to form a billet. Once the metal has been rolled into a sheet or bar, several techniques are used to produce a range of effects.
Each piece is made by hand and each mokume pattern is unique, so no two pieces will look exactly the same. You will have a one of a kind design/pattern.
